Portland Thorns FC (9-4-4, 31 points) moved into second place in the NWSL with a road win over the Chicago Red Stars in front of a crowd of 4,934 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois. The Thorns have won four straight games.The Red Stars dropped to third place with the loss (8-4-5, 29 points). It’s the first loss at home this season for Chicago. Portland jumped out to an early lead, scoring in just the 3rd minute. Red Stars midfielder [**Sofia Huerta**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/dwwgrimn3ddecp5kllvsdga8l) scored in the 38th minute to make it 2-2. Defender [**Sam Johnson**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/5y2ala24107ak9p59pcjny2mt) sent a long cross into the box that was collected by [**Julie Ertz**](https://www.nwslsoccer.com/players/view/dve5pao9dmobh167wb8g45g45), in the middle of a trio of Thorns defenders. Ertz persisted though, and was able to push the ball to Huerta. Huerta then dribbled around some pressure, and sent a right-footed shot to the near post that beat Franch. The goal was Huerta’s fifth of the season. Colaprico was replaced in the match by Jen Hoy. The newest Red Star was removed from the disabled list earlier this week as she returned from a knee injury. She signed with the Red Stars on May 24. Both teams will play on Wednesday on a short rest. The Red Stars will host Seattle Reign FC and the Thorns will visit FC Kansas City.
