The Spirit forward led the league in goal contributions for the month

NEW YORK (October 2, 2025) - The National Women’s Soccer League announced today that Washington Spirit forward Trinity Rodman has been named the Player of the Month, presented by EA SPORTS, for the month of September by the NWSL Media Association.

This is the first Player of the Month honor for Rodman, who entered the month with just a single goal on the season but finishes it with four goals and two assists. Rodman scored her third career regular season brace against the Seattle Reign. September was the first month Rodman started every game since her return from injury.

Rodman had goal contributions on five of the eight goals the Spirit scored in September and led the league in the category. Washington were undefeated in the month (2-0-2) and clinched a playoff spot with a 4-0 win over Houston in Week 22, where Rodman assisted two of four goals scored.

The NWSL Player of the Month is selected each month of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis. Awards for the month of May are based off performances during the regular season matches.
