WASHINGTON SPIRIT MIDFIELDER CROIX BETHUNE NAMED 2024 NWSL MIDFIELDER OF THE YEAR 

No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft, Presented by Ally wins three NWSL end of year awards 

NEW YORK (November 21, 2024) - The National Women’s Soccer League today announced Washington Spirit midfielder Croix Bethune as the 2024 NWSL Midfielder of the Year.

Also awarded with Rookie of the Year, presented by Ally, honors, Bethune notched her 10th assist during Week 17 to lead the league in assists during the regular season while tying the single-season record for assists set by Tobin Heath with the Portland Thorns in 2016. Bethune became the first rookie in league history to notch three assists in one game during her standout performance on May 1 in a 4-2 road victory over the Chicago Red Stars

The former Georgia Bulldog recorded 15 goal contributions, give goals and 10 assists through 17 matches played. The rising star was named the 2024 NWSL Rookie of the Month, presented by Ally, a record-breaking four times notably registered one goal and seven assists throughout May.
