Utah Royals FC midfielder Christen Press has been voted the Week 17 NWSL Player of the Week by the NWSL Media Association.Press helped Utah earn two wins, a 3-0 victory over Sky Blue FC on Wednesday and a 3-1 win over Reign FC on Sunday. During the midweek contest, Press scored a pair of goals within a two-minute span. Lo’eau LaBonta drove through midfield before slotting a pass that came off a Sky Blue defender before Press fired the ball home in the 27th minute. Two minutes later, LaBonta sent in a cross that Press volleyed past Sky Blue goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan. Press was a constant attacking threat, finishing with 11 total shots with 7 of them on target. She also had an 80.6% passing accuracy. In the win over Reign FC, Press posed some problems again. She had three key passes and took five shots.
