Portland Thorns FC forward Christine Sinclair has been voted Week 2 NWSL Player of the Week by the NWSL Media Association.Sinclair recorded a hat trick on Saturday afternoon in Portland’s wild 4-4 draw with the Chicago Red Stars. The forward opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a scoop shot over Red Stars goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher on an assist from Lindsey Horan. Her second goal came in the 51st minute, thanks to a well-timed run that left her open in the box to finish off a cross from Meghan Klingenberg, and put the Thorns up 3-2. Her third goal came on a penalty kick in the 87th minute, and briefly gave the Thorns a 4-3 lead, before the Red Stars tied it. She recorded her first hat trick on July 20, 2014 at home vs. the Boston Breakers and was named Player of the Week.
