Darian Jenkins of Reign FC has been voted NWSL Player of the Week for Week 21 of the 2019
season by the NWSL Media Association. The forward scored a pair of goals within the first half of the 3-1 win as she returned to the starting lineup. The first goal, at three minutes, was a chip with her right foot over Orlando Pride goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris. Most notable was Jenkins’s second goal at the 12- minute mark, where she beat a defender before scoring from a near impossible angle with a shot that was just underneath the crossbar and out of Harris’s reach. Jenkins was efficient in her attacking play, converting both of her shots on target in the match for goals. With four weeks left of regular season play, Reign FC sits in fifth place.
