Bay FC vs. North Carolina Courage – 10 PM ET
How to watch: Prime Video
Already eliminated, Bay FC caused chaos in Seattle last weekend by forcing a draw , ensuring the Reign couldn’t clinch for another weekend. This weekend, they could replicate that chaos and defeat the Courage in the Bay Area. But they won’t be thinking of that surely, as they look to end a season many would consider a disappointment, after an inaugural season that saw them make the playoffs. Rookie Taylor Huff, with four goals to her name this season and a bright future, alongside Racheal Kundananji could play hero for their team, but the Courage with their strong midfield may have a thing or two to say about that. Manaka Matsukubo has been a revelation this season with her seven goals, and Kaleigh Kurtz is about to finish her fourth consecutive Ironwoman season.
Seattle Reign vs. Utah Royals – 10 PM ET
How to watch: NWSL+
Bust out the second screen in your house because there are two NWSL games on this Friday night and both have playoff implications! The freshly eliminated Utah Royals are headed to Seattle to play the Reign, who only need a win to clinch a playoff spot. Last weekend, the Royals lost to the visiting Wave despite a stellar performance from Mina Tanaka and Janni Thomsen. The Reign, meanwhile, grabbed a last minute equalizer thanks to substitute Jess Fishlock. If they have any hope of making the playoffs, let alone going deep, they’ll need to return to their goal-scoring ways of earlier this season. A win or a draw and they clinch a playoff spot automatically. A loss and their fate relies on the game being played in San Jose.
Saturday, October 18
Washington Spirit vs. Orlando Pride – 12:30 PM ET
It’s a rematch of both the 2024 NWSL Championship and the 2025 Challenge Cup and this time, the stage is set in the nation’s capital. This Saturday, the Washington Spirit welcome the reigning champs, Orlando Pride, for the perfect NWSL After Brunch showdown. Hold on to your mimosas, because last weekend both sides’ stars — Trinity Rodman and Marta — left their mark in decisive fashion. If both teams bring that same energy to D.C., we’re in for a spectacle. Every time these two meet, it’s must-see soccer and with playoff spots already secured, they’re playing for something just as meaningful: pride.
Houston Dash vs. Kansas City Current – 5:30 PM ET
How to watch: ION
The first-place, ever-dominant Kansas City Current head to Houston to face their BBQ rivals in a match that could officially extinguish the Dash’s playoff hopes. The Current have been ruthless in form, clinical in every phase of play, and anchored by record-setting goalkeeper Lorena, who posted her latest clean sheet just last weekend. Up front, Temwa Chawinga continues her Golden Boot charge, scoring at a pace no one else can match in the NWSL. Still, the Dash shouldn’t be dismissed. Despite being shut out in Los Angeles, Houston’s attack remains capable of striking back, and they’ll make Kansas City earn every yard of the pitch.
San Diego Wave vs. Chicago Stars – 10 PM ET
How to watch: ION
After snapping their winless streak last weekend, the Wave finally got the proverbial monkey off their back and rediscovered their scoring touch in the process. With momentum on their side and a playoff berth within reach, San Diego will be a team to watch this weekend. Delphine Cascarino, currently tied for the league lead with six assists, continues to be a creative force, while Kenza Dali’s standout debut season—highlighted by three straight NWSL Best XI selections—has anchored the midfield. On the other side, Chicago’s defense and veteran keeper Alyssa Naeher will have their hands full containing that duo, and they’ll be counting on Ludmila and Jameese Joseph to deliver up front.
Sunday, October 19
Gotham FC vs. Racing Louisville – 3 PM ET
How to watch: Paramount+ & NWSL+
The margins couldn’t be more paper thin in the standings. Fourth-place Gotham FC sits on 35 points and can clinch a playoff spot with a win — or even a draw — against Racing Louisville. For Racing, currently eighth with 33 points, victory would secure the club’s first-ever postseason berth, while anything less leaves their fate in other teams’ hands. There’s everything to play for on Sunday afternoon. Expect Emma Sears to test Gotham’s back line and Esther González to cause just as much chaos at the other end. If you love playoff-level drama but you’re too impatient to wait for November, this one’s for you!
Angel City vs. Portland Thorns – 5 PM ET
How to watch: Paramount+ & NWSL+
And last but certainly not least, Los Angeles prepares to say thank you and farewell to two icons: Ali Riley and Christen Press. The Angelenos — college teammates at Stanford, now beloved hometown legends — will close out their storied careers where it all began: side by side. But before the tributes and tears, there’s business to handle on the pitch. This matchup has history — fans will remember Decision Day a few years back, when Angel City stunned the Thorns 5–1 behind a spectacular Sydney Leroux bicycle attempt and a playoff push for the ages. This time around, Angel City enters fresh off a vital 2–0 win that kept their postseason hopes alive, while Portland looks to rebound after falling in Orlando. Two teams and one shared goal: to end the regular season on a high and maybe, extend it a little longer.
