2019 will be Scotland's Women's World Cup debut

Utah Royals FC defender Rachel Corsie and Scotland qualified for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Tuesday with a 2-1 win over Albania to win their group in UEFA Women’s World Cup qualifying. It’s Scotland’s first-ever appearance in the tournament.Scotland also features former Seattle Reign FC midfielder and 2014 NWSL MVP Kim Little, who will likely make her World Cup debut next summer. Also qualifying on Tuesday: Germany, Norway and Sweden. The four countries join Australia, Brazil, Chile, China PR, England, France (host nation), Italy, Japan, Korea Republic, Spain and Thailand, who have already qualified for the tournament. Fifteen of 24 countries have booked their tickets to France so far. [Empty Body] [Empty Body] Four countries are set for the play-offs round for UEFA’s final spot in the tournament: Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland. The draw will take place on Friday. Denmark features Seattle Reign FC defender Theresa Nielsen and Switzerland is represented by Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic of Portland Thorns FC. Utah Royals FC midfielder Gunnhildur Jónsdóttir and Iceland, as well as Seattle Reign FC midfielder Jess Fishlock and Wales, missed out on the play-offs. Also on Tuesday, Houston Dash forward Rachel Daly started and scored her second international goal for England in a 6-0 win over Kazakhstan in their final qualifier. [Empty Body]
